When our son was born, the last thing I was doing was itching to pick up a paintbrush. Most days I was lucky to pick up a toothbrush. We were ill prepared for the lack of sleep and bodily fluids, but we managed to somehow survive. Baby raising is no joke. I did start to find a creative spark from the several children's book that replaced my historical fiction novels and late morning reading of the newspaper. Now my regulars include little blue trucks, 100 trucks (spoiler alert: it includes non-trucks), and construction sites.
